Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.

Main Idea
1. The Circumstances That Led to Adultery
Sin happens, but it seldom just happens… there are usually things that lead a person into sin.
What are some indicators that a person is heading down a path toward sin and destruction in their life?
2. The Consequences of Adultery
The devil’s lie is that your sinful action won’t hurt anyone, but that’s not true. It will hurt you, it will hurt those closest to you, and it will have ramifications beyond what you can imagine.
Why are the consequences of sin often so hard to see until it’s too late? What are some things a person can do to keep the cost of sin in proper view?
3. The Precautions to Avoid Adultery
Sin will take you farther than you want to go, keep you longer than you want to stay, and cost you more than you want to pay.
What are some hedges you have put up in your life to maintain sexual purity before the Lord?
Call To Action
Reflect:
Sin doesn’t just happen — it grows in the cracks of our character. What “small cracks” might the Holy Spirit be pointing out in your life?
Respond:
Don’t wait until sin conceives — take action now. This week, choose one practical guardrail to strengthen your walk (time in prayer, accountability, seek biblical council, fleeing temptation, guarding your eyes, or protecting your marriage).
Remember:
Every temptation is an opportunity to run to Jesus because He is faithful and will always provide a way out. When you rely on His strength, you can walk in purity, faithfulness, and freedom.
