The Promise of Power (Pt. 2)
Acts 1:4-8
Acts 1:3 (NIV)
After his [Jesus’] suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. (Kingdom = King’s Domain, Rule of God) On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: "Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.

And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high."
Acts 1:5 (NIV)
For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

1st Term: “Baptized with the Holy Spirit”

2nd Term: “The Holy Spirit comes on you”
Acts 1:8 (NIV)
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Luke 21:26 (NIV)
Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
3rd Term: “pour out my Spirit”
Acts 2:17a (NIV)
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
4th Term: “Filled with the Holy Spirit”

All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.

5th Term: “The Holy Spirit fell upon”
