1st Everything we have belongs to Jesus
Matthew 25:14–15 (NLT)
14 “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called
together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone.
15 He gave five (talents) bags of silver to one, two bags of silver to another, and one bag of silver to the last—dividing it in proportion to their abilities. He then left on his trip.
Accountable
A talent of silver would be the equivalent to 75 lbs of silver today.
- 5 talents of silver = $306,720
- 2 talents of silver = $122,688
- 1 talent of silver = $61,344
Matthew 25:14 (NLT)
He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them
Everything we have is from God and belongs to God
Matthew 25:14 (NLT)
He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them
When we understand that the money we have belongs to Jesus it makes us more effective givers.
Matthew 16:18 (ESV)

When you invest you get blessed.
2nd God multiplies what we give.
Matthew 25:16–17 (NLT)
16 “The servant who received the five bags of silver began to invest the money and earned five more.
17 The servant with two bags of silver also went to work and earned two more.
The Law of the Harvest:
1st You reap what you sow.
2nd You reap after you sow.
3rd You reap more than you sow.
4th You reap based on how much you sow.
2 Corinthians 9:6 (ESV)
The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Luke 6:38 (NLT)
Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.
Matthew 19:27–29 (NLT)
27 Then Peter said to him, “We’ve given up everything to follow you. What will we get?”
28 Jesus replied, “I assure you that when the world is made new and the Son of Man sits upon his glorious throne, you who have been my followers will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.”
2 Corinthians 9:10–11 (NIV)
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.
11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
> Two years ago, I lost my job as a Senior Technical Support Engineer when the software market crashed after COVID. Around 90% of our staff were let go, and since my income was the main one in our family, it was a really difficult time. After I was let go, the company wanted to keep me as a freelancer — which was scary, because freelancing doesn’t come with a stable income. But through that season, something amazing happened — I truly turned to God. I went from being lukewarm in my faith to being on fire for the Lord. Even though fear tried to creep in, I chose to trust that God would provide for us. We stepped out in faith — not by holding back, but by giving more. We raised our monthly tithe. Month after month, God provided in ways beyond what we could imagine. His faithfulness never failed! Because of His provision, I made a commitment to increase my tithe by 1% each year. Today, I’m freelancing for the same company I once worked for, and I also run my own business. This year has been the most profitable year I’ve ever had! All glory to God — He truly is faithful and good!
3. How we view Jesus affects now and eternity
Matthew 25:19–23 (NIV)
19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them.
20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’
21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’
23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Matthew 25:18 (NIV)
But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
Matthew 25:24–30 (NIV)
24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.
25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed?
27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
28 ‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags.
29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
Matthew 25:24 (NIV)
“Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man,
