God’s Kindness Is Amazing
Ps Brandon Lindell
Scripture
2 Samuel 9:7–10:
David said to him, “I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.” Then the king summoned Ziba, Saul’s steward, and said to him, “I have given your master’s grandson everything that belonged to Saul and his family. You and your sons and your servants are to farm the land for him and bring in the crops, so that your master’s grandson may be provided for. And Mephibosheth, grandson of your master, will always eat at my table.”

Main Idea
God’s kindness goes beyond what makes sense—it seeks out the broken, the undeserving, and even His enemies. His kindness doesn’t just spare us; it restores us, lifts us from shame, and gives us a seat at His table. God is unfailingly kind, and though we are broken, He has extended mercy to us.
1. God’s Kindness Doesn’t Make Sense
God is kind to people who can do nothing for Him. His kindness is so great that it is hard to imagine.
Has someone ever done something for you that was so kind it did not make sense? How did that interaction help you to see the heart of God more clearly?
2. God’s Kindness Shows Us Mercy
Mercy is God withholding the punishment we rightfully deserve.
Why is the mercy of God so transformative in a person’s life? How does it change the course of a person’s life?
3. God’s Kindness Gives Us Grace
Grace is what makes the gospel incredibly good news. Grace is what makes the gospel explosive in its power.
What are some ways you have seen God show you undeserved favor and blessing in your life?
Call To Action
Reflect:
God’s kindness goes further than we can comprehend. He shows mercy to the guilty, grace to the undeserving, and love to the broken.
Respond:
Where in your life do you need to approach God with confidence in His kindness?
Remember:
God’s kindness is not a momentary feeling—it’s who He is. He has given you a permanent seat at His table, and nothing can take that away.
