Reverse the Curse
Galatians 3:10-14
Galatians 3:10-14
For all who rely on works of the law are under a curse; for it is written, “Cursed be everyone who does not abide by all things written in the Book of the Law, and do them.” Now it is evident that no one is justified before God by the law, for “The righteous shall live by faith.” But the law is not of faith, rather “The one who does them shall live by them.” Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us—for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who is hanged on a tree”— so that in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles, so that we might receive the promised Spirit through faith.
1. Forgiveness is the proof that you know you are forgiven.
Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
Forgiven people forgive.
Not defined by what has been done to you but by what Christ has done for you.
2. Unforgiveness gives false control, forgiveness gives true freedom.
(Are you more peaceful?)
Bitterness paves a pathway to the past, forgiveness paves a pathway to your future.
3. Forgiveness does not let the offender off the hook, it gives peace knowing they are on God’s hook.
Romans 12:19
Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
4. Forgiveness power is activated when it’s offered, not when it is received.
5. Most powerful evidence of the Holy Spirit is to bless those who did not bless you.
Romans 12:14
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.
